ZEE NEWS - 29th October, 2013 - New Delhi: The 3rd National Conclave with the theme ‘Redesigning Business Processes for Competitive Advantage’ was organised on October 25 by the Delhi Management Association (DMA) along with the leading Business Process Management (BPM) & Shared Services Consulting organization RvaluE, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi.

The one-day conclave showcased the power of BPM, with three streams: Workshop Panel Discussions, BPM Publication containing perspectives from Business Leaders on BPM / SSC and Excellence Awards and Recognitions. The conclave was attended by about 100 senior leader delegates from several domains across the country, much beyond NCR.

In his welcome address, Mr Sunil Sayal, Programme Director & Region CFO, Nokia Solutions & Network, explained why BPM has become a necessity in today’s economic scenario and it is an irreversible trend, here to stay!

Dr Nalin Shinghal, CMD, Central Electronics Limited and President, DMA as the Guest of Honour inaugurated the conclave and gave a classic example of BPM strategy implemented at Indian Railways – both ticketing and enquiry system and how this saved million man days and brought a great ‘passenger experience’ to the citizens of India.

Mr Ravi S Ramakrishnan, Founder & CEO, RvaluE Consulting, Knowledge Partners to the conclave, said he believed BPM is integral to any company’s strategy to part to business.

“This Conclave raises the focus to BPM and disseminate its understanding in ‘Global India’ to achieve competitive advantage, spreading and recognizing adoption of Shared Services in India, fully leveraging the best practices from global shared services and off shoring operations,” said Ramakrishnan.

Mr Hitesh Vakil, CEO, Service Excellence Centre, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, said during a panel discussion, “At Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, we have recently embarked on an ambitious journey to set up a state-of-the-art Service Excellence Centre (SEC) with a clear target to achieve benefits such as Scale, Process Efficiencies, Standardisation, Talent Sharing, Innovations, and Career Opportunities for employees.”

“We are really interested in Business Process Management that simplifies, streamlines and standardises the process,” Mr Vakil added.

The conclave witnessed the release of the first-of-its-kind BPM Publication by DMA–RvaluE on ‘BPM in Global India: The Inflection Point for Competitive Advantage’ bringing out its triggers, approach, strategy, execution and requirements of various segments of Industry.

Hon’ble Minister for Communications & Information Technology, Shri Kapil Sibal sent his Message, congratulating DMA /RvaluE for organizing this Conclave with a theme that is so apt for India, and conveyed his happiness about release of the BPM Publication.

Excellence Awards were also given away the same day.

This year’s Excellence Award for Shared Services were conferred to Tata Motors Limited (for SSC in India -Single Domain), Adani Enterprises Ltd (for SSC in India - Diversified Domains) and ICICI Bank Limited (for SSC in India – Banking Domain). There were 2 Recognitions – one to ONGC (for their successful ICE Project) and second to, Mr C S Puri, Life Patron DMA (for his guidance, support and patronage to DMA).
