Instant Publish - 18th November 2014 - New Delhi: The Shared Services Forum (SSF) along with RvaluE, the leading Business Process Management (BPM) & Shared Services Consulting organization, as Knowledge Partner organized the 4th National Conclave on Friday 14th November 2014 on the Theme – “Process Agility & Cost Optimization in Service and Support Functions: The Imperatives For Global India – Intent, Implement & Impact”, at Eros Hotel, New Delhi.  The Conclave was well attended by 100+ senior executives across India, with very eminent industry leaders as Speakers and case presentations!

In this Conclave, two senior Industry Leaders were felicitated! The Excellence Awards were instituted by SSF with a view to recognise and promote transformative strategies for shared services demonstrating winning practices.

Mr. Raman Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, Quatrro inaugurated the Conclave with his Key Note Speech and was felicitated for his stellar contributions. SSF honoured Raman with the Award, as a PIONEERING ‘ENTREPREURIAL LEADER’ IN GLOBAL INDIA, for Creativity & Leading Global Outsourcing Missions to India, delivering Value and Impact to Business, Industry & Society.’ Anil Sachdev, the Founder & CEO of SOIL presented the Award on behalf of SSF.

Raman mentioned that “India has a great potential for Shared Services & BPM and given the capabilities of our talented people, we can quickly move from a Cost Center to a Profit Center,” Anil Sachdev, delivered the special address on leadership requirements for VUCA and provided 6 key dimensions to be focused being a BPM & Transformational leader.

Mr Akhil Gupta was the Special Guest for the Awards Evening and he was felicitated for his stellar contribution. SSF honoured Akhil, as a PIONEERING ‘BUSINESS’ LEADER IN GLOBAL INDIA, for Creativity & Leading Enterprise-wide Outsourcing & BPM Mission, delivering Value and Business Transformational Impact. Mr VV Ranganathan, former Senior Partner of EY, and the Jury Chair for the Awards, presented the Award on behalf of SSF.

Akhil in his Special Address summed up the essence of BPM through 3 real life examples in his career and clearly stated that “BPM has become a necessity in today’s economic scenario and NOT a choice, and this is a critical need for business to grow and sustain growth”.

“This Conclave raises the focus on Business Process Management (BPM) and disseminate its understanding in ‘Global India”, said Ravi Ramakrishnan, Founder & CEO, RvaluE while introducing the theme of the conclave. Sharing the Executive Summary of the Publication, Mr. Rakesh Sinha, Vice President & Business Leader, RvaluE and Editorial Lead and highlighted that, “BPM has now become a Hobson’s choice and “this publication will become a valuable reference guide and document to organizations in India”.

He also shared the seven mantras for achieving a Positive Business Case this publication will create the ‘best-in-context’ approach by suitably adapting best-in-class global practices to Indian environment.”

Plenary Session 2 was a CXO Panel where discussions were kicked off on ‘Building Organizations for Tomorrow through BPM – From the Lens of CXOs’. The eminent CXO panellists were:  Mr. Ravi Ramakrishnan, Founder & CEO, RvaluE, Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles, Mr. P B Balaji, CFO, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Mr. Rajendra Prasad, President & CFO, SRF Limited. Session was moderated by Mr. Saurabh Manchanda, Deputy Executive Producer, Zee Media.  The CXO panel shared their wisdom and practical insights on their planned journey to Excellence!

Plenary Session 3 brought various Success stories of Delivering Business Impact  through BPM – The 3Cs (Cost Optimization, Customer Experience and Competitive Advantage) in Indian & Sri Lankan environment across domains, with business leaders and practitioners as speakers – Mr. Hitesh Vakil, CEO, Service Excellence Center, Essel Group,  Mr. Manoj Malhotra, CEO, Avantha Business Solutions, Avantha Group, Mr. Kishan Jayasekera, CEO, Brandix Mercury Asia Sri Lanka, Mr. S Balasubramaniam, Global Head – Shared Services, Bharti Airtel. Panel was moderated by Mr. K Ramesh, and Industry Veteran and Former CEO, Shared Services, HUL.

Post Lunch, Mr. H Karthik, Partner, Global Sourcing Practice, Everest Group, shared an enriching presentation on ‘Articulating and Substantiating Business Impact – Trends and Insights from Global Operations to be adapted for developing the BPM Strategy in Indian environment’.

Next Session was Case Presentations focused on Redefining Partnering Models – Hybrid, Managed Services, Public Services. The panel speakers, Mr. Narayanan Sampath, Head India Business, Infosys BPO and Mr. Ramesh Krishnamurthy, Commissioner, Income Tax (Systems) shared their perspectives. Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Chief Architect, Shared Services Forum chaired the session.

The above session was followed by a powerful case presentation by Mr. Anup Vikal, CFO, Aircel, on ‘How to be ‘GLOCAL’? Synthesizing Global Practices with Local (Domestic) Requirements!

Plenary Session 4 was very interesting and completely focused on – How does the ‘I’ of IT drive Metrics, Process Agility, Risk Management and Decision Support. Deliberations were led by Anil Garg, CIO, Dabur India Limited, Manish Mittal, VP, Global Business Services, American Express, Murtaza Poonawala, Associate VP -Business Excellence, Vodafone Shared Services, Nalin Tripathi, Leader – Quality & Enablers, Adani Business Excellence Center. Session was moderated by Mr. H. Karthik.

The Conclave ended with 3 awards presented to Reliance Industries, Vodafone Shared Services and AHLBS, Good Hope Sri Lanka for their excellent implementations of SSC and 4 Recognitions to Dabur, Brandix Sri Lanka, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, and VE Commercial Vehicles for their BPM journey!  Rakesh Sinha in his concluding remarks thanked the Sponsors – Infosys BPO, Nokia, VE Commercial Vehicles, Aircel, Cnergyis and EMPI – B School.
