Shyama had over 30 years of work experience in Banking, Financial Services and Business Services in large corporations including ANZ Grindlays, American Express, HSBC and Bank Am.

A highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong track record in building effective teams, driving performance, and managing change and transformation in a global matrix environment. An open, influential leader who takes personal accountability and has demonstrated strong strategic thinking, ability in recognizing and managing risks, and analytical skills in addressing complex business and commercial challenges within blue chip corporate environments.

Shyama was with BA Continuum in her last role until she passed away in September 2017. HSBC in June 2008 and is responsible for the establishment and management of the Global Finance Centres (GFC) in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Krakow, and London. She is a member of the Finance Management Board. Shyama joined HSBC from American Express, where she spent over 8 years, the last 3years leading American Express Finance Centre with teams in Delhi and Phoenix. Prior to that, she spent almost 11 years with ANZ Grindlays Bank and undertook a wide range of roles in their Corporate and Investment Bank.

On the Banking side, she was responsible for managing banking needs for large corporates in India specially in the Telecom and Power sectors. On the markets side, she was involved in several structured loan syndications and capital market debt and equity placement transactions for corporate customers. In her last role with ANZ Gringlays Bank as Head of Corporate Finance - North India, she managed the first privatization deal for the Government of India.

Shyama started her career with 20th Century Finance Corporation Ltd, the largest private sector leasing company in India and then spent a year with DSP Financial Consultants, an associate of Merrill Lynch. Shyama received her Master of Business Administration in 1986 from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.

Shyama is an incredible person with grit, determination, exemplary conviction, accomplishments and an amazing sense of purpose! A great colleague to work with, she is a Role Model for many, as she faced challenges, professionally and personally, with a smile on her face.
