Narayanan Sampath

Narayanan Sampath (Narayan) is the Head of India Business in Infosys BPO. In this role, he leads the company’s growth in the Indian geography and is responsible for Business Development, Sales, and Operations. He also leads the company’s Impact Sourcing initiatives.

Since joining Infosys in 2006, Narayan has managed several key functions. He headed the Infosys Delivery Center in Jaipur and managed outsourcing operations for global clients. He was responsible for the centralization and setting up of a Global Transition Team migrating business processes from clients in USA, UK, Europe, South East Asia and Australia to Infosys delivery centers.

Narayan is a Commander from the Indian Navy with experience in diverse industries. In his 15 years in the Navy, he was associated with the design, construction and refits of combat ships and submarines. Subsequently, he moved to the private sector and has performed different roles in automotive, IT, pharmaceutical and outsourcing industries.

At Sundaram-Clayton, he was a member of the R&D team responsible for the design and development of anti-lock braking systems (ABS) for commercial vehicles. In his stint with SAP India, he managed complex SAP implementation programs for India’s leading petrochemical and automotive companies. As Vice President – Supply Chain at Strides Arcolab, he reengineered, consolidated and managed a global pharmaceutical supply chain.

In a career spanning 30 years, Narayan has successfully incubated and built several business and organizational units. He has managed international and India based client relationships, reengineered business processes, managed organizational change and built successful teams in government, manufacturing and knowledge industries.

Narayan is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, post-graduate in Naval Architecture from IIT, Delhi and MBA from Delhi University.
