S. Varadarajan or Raja as he is popularly known as, is an alumnus of Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur and Indian Society for Training & Development, New Delhi. He is a Graduate Leadership and Life Coach, from Coach for Life, USA, and a Hogan Certified professional.

Raja has over three and a half decades of experience as a Human Resources Leader, who has shaped high-performing cultures at major growth brands with technical business acumen, prolific communication and robust development programs.

He prides himself in working in partnership with senior management to orchestrate cultural development and organization change initiatives that address corporate goals and strategies. He has been awarded the Seasoned HR Professional Award from NHRDN, the Best HR Professional, by the World HR Congress for thought leadership & contribution in the field of HR and featuring in the list of Top 100 Most Talented HR Professionals by World HRD Congress.

He presently runs his own firm, which provides solutions to drive client’s transformation agenda by addressing the factors affecting an organization’s ability to reach its strategic objectives, development and implementation of strategy, business initiatives, and organizational and cultural change for leadership alignment, change leadership, stakeholder and employee engagement, organization performance, and communication.

He also coaches a select set of CXOs & CEOs and provides advisory services to start ups. Raja was earlier the CHRO & Head of Corporate Affairs in VISTARA (TATA SIA Airlines Limited), a Joint Venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines Ltd to provide a full service airline in India. Prior to this he was the Executive President – Human Resources of Tata Teleservices Limited, and worked to turnaround the company to be EBITDA positive in 15-18 months.

He was a member of the Group Executive Office for Human Resources for the Tata Group, where he was directly responsible for overseeing and facilitating Group HR initiatives for the IT and Telecom businesses across 12 Tata Group companies, member of the Tata Group Employee Relation Council and was an invitee to the Tata SIA Board. Before taking charge at Tata Teleservices in his second stint, Raja was part of the promoting team along with industry pioneer Raman Roy at Spectramind and Quattro Global Services both in Business Process Outsourcing services space between 2000 and 2011.

Raja played a dual role of HR lead and member of Senior Management Team. Raja has made significant contributions in organization building, performance management, remuneration practices and career development for organizations like American Express International (ASEAN & S. Asia Region), KPMG Peat Marwick in Muscat, Price Waterhouse in India, Sundaram Clayton and McDowells (UB Group).
