Arun Dinakar Rao is the Chief People Officer of Birlasoft. He has over 28 years of experience within the IT/ITeS, Finance and Internet industries, and is widely regarded for his insights and opinions on bettering the Human Resources, Learning and Development and Talent Management functions. Arun has managed large scale operations and is experienced in leading change management initiatives.
Arun specializes in the areas of Strategy Development, Organization Design, Performance Management, Career Architecture & Development, M&A, Leadership Development, Recruitment, and International HR. He believes that the culture and values of an organization depend on strong employee connection and transparency.
Previously, Arun led the HR function at DXC Technology India and where he was responsible for aligning the people function to business objectives and helped drive multiple post-merger integrations.
Prior to DXC, at Deloitte US Offices of India Arun led the HR function across multiple business lines, served as the Chief Learning Officer and was instrumental in the smooth execution of key leadership development initiatives. He has also served with companies like Satyam Computers Limited, and AppLabs Technologies in the past.
Among leadership and talent enhancement circles, Arun contributes as a speaker at industry events, think-tank sessions, publications, dailies and HR forums as well. He is regularly involved in mentorship programs, providing enrichment to aspiring and mid-management individuals interested in making a career in Human Resources.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI, Jamshedpur (India) and is also an alumnus of University of Delhi (India).
When time permits, Arun pushes himself to be closer to nature through treks, safari trips and holidays in the mountains. He is an avid reader of books around strategy and organizational excellence and admires the industry vision and direction of Tim O'Reilly (O'Reilly Media).
