Shri Tripathi is the General Manager – Head of Information Consolidation for Efficiency (ICE): Resource Planning in ONGC.
In initial phase of ICE, Shri Tripathi was entrusted with integration managers job of ERP project of ONGC along with the leadership of Plant Maintenance, Life Cycle Data Management and Health, Environment & Safety modules of SAP ERP. In October 2011, he was designated as Head ICE and took number of new initiatives like upgrade of hardware both at primary site at Delhi & Disaster Recovery data center, Vadodara. On functional front, he also took initiative for engagement of SAP to upgrade the Enhancement pack level from EhP3 to EhP6 and map the new functionalities as per the user’s requirement. As Head ICE, his major achievements includes B2B integration with customers like IOCL, BPCL, HPCL etc., release of ICE reference document covering approximately 150 processes, enabling e-sales of Gas through e-procurement system and many more.
Prior to joining ONGC, he served in HINDALCO, Renukoot for a year and then he worked for five years in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre as Scientific Officer. He left BARC in 1982 and joined ONGC as Asstt. Executive Engineer (E&T). At ONGC, he served in different functional areas like Mud Logging, Well Logging and at different locations like Dehradun, Sibsagar-Asset (Assam) and Ahmedabad-Asset prior to being picked up for ERP implementation project-ICE of ONGC at Delhi in 2002.
His special accolades include Megh Nath Saha Memorial award 1984 from council of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi for his work on X-Ray Fluorescence Technique for Trace Analysis. He has been recipient of number of merit certificates and appreciations from current employer. He has published number of papers in internal journals of ONGC pertaining to innovative ideas and developments like CBL tool Simulator, Core Gun tester and Radio Active tool stack tester while working with well Logging Services. He has also contributed papers in SPG and different Petrotech events.
Shri Tripathi is a graduate engineer in E&C and MBA with specialization in HRM. He is a fellow member of The Institution of Engineers (India).
