Nirupa Shankar

Nirupa is a Joint Managing Director at Brigade Group, one of India’s leading real estate developers. She has spent the past 14 years of her career overseeing the company’s Hotel, Office and Retail portfolios.

Nirupa has the serial entrepreneurial bug in her and has successfully conceptualised multiple award winning F&B outlets such as HIGH Ultra Lounge, Glass Kitchen & Bar, and the Art Café in Bangalore.

She set up Asia’s first real estate accelerator called Brigade Real Estate Accelerator Program

She launched Brigade’s flexible workspaces brand called – BuzzWorks in 2019.

Prior to joining Brigade Nirupa worked as a Senior Business Analyst with Ernst & Young LLP in the New York and North Carolina offices. She has bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University. She graduated on Deans List and as Vice President of her class.

Nirupa is passionate about writing. Her articles are regularly published in the news and trade journals. Nirupa is a regular speaker at various top tier forums, conferences and think tanks. She is also a two time TEDx speaker.

Nirupa has won multiple awards and has been recognised as a CNBC Young Turk and Economic Times (ET) 40 under 40.

She is a fitness enthusiast and regularly participates in triathlons, recently completing the full Ironman Copenhagen 23’. She reads autobiographies and plays poker to unwind. Nirupa is the mother of two daughters.
